They called her “Super Nạn”—and for good reason. At 76, this fierce widow grabbed the mic and unleashed a rap so bold, so fiery, it left even Sir Tom Jones blinking in disbelief. After nearly six decades away from the spotlight, Bette Reynolds returned like a thunderbolt, rewriting what it means to make a comeback. Judges gasped. Fans roared. And one thing’s for sure: age is just a number when you’ve got fire in your soul

A contestant on The Voice UK returned to the stage for the first time in 58 years tonight, with a totally unexpected rap song.

The current season of the ITV reality series has already seen several emotional moments play out, including a proposal on last week’s episode.

Now, the show’s oldest contestant ever has taken to the stage in tonight’s episode, in the shape of 76-year-old Bette Reynolds as she tried to convince to the coaches Sir Tom Jones, Will.i.am, LeAnn Rimes and Tom Fletcher and Danny Jones to turn their chairs.

‘I haven’t been on stage since 1966. But, at 76, you’re still a young thing if it’s in your mind,’ she said on the show as she opened up about her journey to this point.

‘I want to do myself proud and I want to make my family proud. It’s a big privilege to be here.’ she added.

And that she did, blowing the judges, audience, and at-home viewers away with her rendition of The Sugarhill Gang’s, Rapper’s Delight.
